Introduction

For our metropolis brief I've been trying to create my perfect metropolis world. And the first thing that occurs to me in my perfect world in modern so I've been taking pictures from the internet of the most modern looking building on Earth however I have also been taking buildings from modern or futuristic movies like Tron Legacy and I Robot.
For instance building from Earth

• Yas Marina Hotel - abu dhabi 
• Marina Sands Hotel - Singapore
• Burj Tower - Dubai
• The Gerkin - London 

However I also like buildings of gothic design specifically from the renaissance era from the 10th - 15th century. So I have also been looking at buildings like:

• Basilica San Marco - Venice
• Basilica de la Sagrada Familia - Barcelona

Like I said earlier i've also been researching buildings from Movies like I Robot and Tron Legacy.
For instance:

• The USR headquarters from I Robot
• and all buliding from Tron Legacy

modern inspirations

The Yas Marina Hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is truely stunning to look at especially at night designed by Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture in my opinion the most modern looking building on the planet. The reasons why i think this is the most modern looking building on the planet are first the LED lighting system that blankets the hotel and makes it look like the northern lights a little at night and the shape to design something so architecturally beautiful really deserves a lot of credit.

The Marina Sands Hotel is in Singapore. The resort includes a 2,561 room hotel, a casino, an arts and science museum, a shopping mall, a 360m long complex sky park and 2 floating pavilions. This hotel really is the cutting edge of what a modern building can do.
